Vallum is interested in original and previously unpublished work. Ideal submissions are well-crafted, fresh and edgy. We are committed to enriching and continuing the tradition of poetry in the present day. We welcome submissions that deepen our understanding of what poetry is and can be. We are open to most styles, whether experimental or traditional – though issues are usually put together with an underlying theme in mind, so not all poetry can be accepted, even if it is genius!

The winner of the Vallum Chapbook Award receives publication of their chapbook as a part of the Vallum Chapbook Series as well as $300. Selections from the chapbook will also appear on Vallum’s website and social media!

Vallum's Chapbook Series has published work from Karen Solie, Bhanu Kapil, Sina Queyras, Nicole Brossard, George Elliott Clarke, Erín Moure, Franz Wright, Fanny Howe, John Kinsella, and many more. Past winners of the Vallum Chapbook Award have won the bpNichol Chapbook Prize, been nominated for the Nelson Ball Prize for poetry of observation, and the Griffin Poetry Prize!

To enter the contest, fill out the form, submit your payment, and attach your file. If you have any questions about the submission process or you wish to withdraw your entry, please email submission@vallummag.com.
